Issue Printing from Photoshop on Epson SureColor SC-P20000: Paper Advances and Partial Print

Hi everyone,

I’m experiencing an issue when printing from OS 13.6.7 on  Photoshop v 25.0.0 to my Epson SureColor SC-P20000, and I’m hoping someone here might have some insights. The problem occurs when I create a single canvas with multiple images pasted together. When I send the file to print, the plotter advances the paper by about 15 cm, prints only a partial section (around 30 cm), and leaves the rest of the print blank.

Here’s what I’ve checked so far:

  • The canvas size matches the paper size exactly.
  • There are no excessive margins or empty spaces in the file.
  • Automatic cutting is disabled on the plotter.
  • The issue doesn’t happen with single images—only when multiple images are combined on one canvas.

I suspect it might be a setting or workflow issue within Photoshop, but I can’t pinpoint what’s causing the problem. Has anyone experienced something similar? Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Hi! I Have the same problem sometimes, and the only solution that works sometimes (I have the problem right now and it isn't working) is to change the setting: Paper Roll to Paper Roll Banner and viceversa.

Sometimes works, sometimes not.

That's strange. I just tried to create a roll paper set-up using your stated dimension of 279.4 mm for both width and height and it worked fine. I'm on MacOS 12.6 and have EPL Version 1.5.9.

Thanks for the suggestion! I’ve already installed Epson maPrint Layout, but unfortunately, it doesn’t allow me to set the roll paper size to 279.4 mm in height.  ahhh thanks again MARK

Then it sounds perhaps less like a Photoshop problem and maybe some malfunctioning between the printer driver and the OS. To check for that, it may be an idea to install Epson Print Layout and try making the print through that application.

I tried flattening the image, but it seems that didn’t solve the problem either. thanks Mark

Not that it should be necessary, but did you flatten the file and save it (under a new name in order to keep the layered file separately) before sending it to print? Perhaps that may be a pro-tem fix?
