Issue with color picker on CS6 [was: Not jumping to conclusions, am I?]

Just two days before I got an official notice from Adobe that Adobe CS -6 will no longer be supported (duh, that happened yrs ago) my program started to screw up. My color Picker no longer can identify the color I am picking. I have not changed ANY settings, and have tried both layer and all layers to see if my color picker can know the different. I have only ONE layer. This issue hasn't happened.... ever. Are we being sobbotaged if we intend to keep using older copies?

On Windows 11 (all updates secured)

And now I can't even get help for it.... 😠
