Issue with Paragraph Styles in Photoshop

Here is the VERY frustrating issue:

1. I create a paragraph style {Helvetica Bold, 28/34}

2. I name is Medium Headline

What I do:

1. Select a new paragraph

2. Click the Medium Headline style

3. Click the Clear Override button.

What I get:

The correct font, the correct color and the correct justification BUT a completely random font size (in this case 15.64 pixels)

This makes absolutely no sense and is an utterly frustrating bug.

Do you have default font size enabled? in Preferences?

I have no default font. I was not aware that it was possible in preferences. I have always set default fonts in the type options menu up top. In this case there is not a default font.

There is a setting to set the default size based on the document.

@kd360 how did you set-up your document? Pixels or points? Photoshop stores type styles in points, but depending on your document settings or resolution, it may display or apply them in pixels, leading to unexpected conversions. This issue is more common when switching between documents with different DPI settings or when styles are imported from templates.

Sometimes styles get corrupted. Delete the style, restart Photoshop, and recreate it from scratch. If you’re copying text between documents, make sure both use the same resolution and unit settings to avoid style corruption. Instead of typing first and applying the style after, try selecting the Type Tool, choosing the style, and then typing. This can prevent inherited overrides.

Hi,
Thanks for responding. I am using pixels for rulers and points for type. All of the documents are variations of a starting document. What I mean is I created a section of the website with artboards for one section of the site. When done, I made a copy of that file so each file is just a clone of the original. The strange thing is that the problems only occur with certain styles. Others are fins.
