Issue with Smoothing Causing Brush Stroke Delay

Hi all,

When using photoshop to create sketches, there is a notable delay when performing brush strokes, only when smoothing is enabled. I've looked about for solutions, and I have done the following with no luck:

  • Updated to the latest (20.0.1 as of this post) release.
  • Disabled Rulers.
  • In Preferences > Performance, followed guidelines such as disabling graphics processor, changing drawing mode to basic, changing cache levels and tile size, resetting to default etc.
  • Updated my Tablet Driver to the latest version.

I've noticed there is a new driver for my GPU so I'm giving that a shot too. My system settings are:

i7-4790k @ 4.00GHz

16GB RAM

Nvidia GTX 980ti

And my graphics tablet is a Huion KAMVAS GT-221 Pro.

I've managed to find a GIF that shows the issue: https://cms-assets.tutsplus.com/uploads/users/346/posts/24478/image/brushlag1.gif

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Not sure what else it might be other than 2 things. 1 would be how much smoothing do you have turned on? If you have it much higher than 10%, it seems to get pretty bad at the moment. And 2., if the Huion is having any kind of issues like the Wacoms are right now, you may need to reinstall all of your drivers for that to see it it helps.
