Key shortcut for “Scale”

In the latest version of Photoshop for the Mac, the keyboard shortcut to scale a photo was available. Easy to use and fast. That function seems to have disappeared. Now I have to go to the top bar and choose “Scale” from a pulldown menu. Why the change or am I missing something?

What keyboard shortcut were you using, and which command was it for in the menu? If you can show a screen shot of the pulldown menu where you are now having to choose Scale, that would help us figure out what you’re seeing.

Because nothing has changed in that area. The traditional command Edit > Transform > Scale never had a default keyboard shortcut (it was just as easy to use the Free Transform shortcut which is still there), so it is possible that you assigned a shortcut to Scale in the past and it somehow got reset to default (like were Photoshop preferences recently deleted)? Or maybe the Photoshop workspace got changed to one where the menu layout/shortcuts are different? If that happened, choose one of the default workspaces.
