Lasso Tool Has Stopped Working Correctly

Hello

 

My Lasso Tool no longer selects what I draw it to select. A lot of the time it just selects some random circle in the area that I draw, if that. Oftentimes it will tell me that I didn't select anything at all.

 

My Photoshop version is 26.4.1

My platform is Mac and my OS is Ventura 13.7.4

    Could you please post screenshots with the pertinent Panels (Toolbar, Layers, Options Bar, …) visible? 

    What Feather value did you set for the Lasso Tool?
