Layer panel highlight smart object command

Hi,

In Photoshop/Photoshop Beta, I want to highlight the command "New Smart Object via Copy" in the Layer panel, same as I do for other commands. However, I can only find it under the Application Menues (Layer > Smart Objects >  New Smart Object via Copy) and can't find it under "Keyboard Shortcuts and Menus > Panel Menus" panel.

Any suggestions?

They have recently added a sea6rch bar to the Shortcuts panel, that makes finding things way easier.

 

My pet hate with Photoshop is finding things via right clicking.  Especially with the list seeming to get longer nowadays.  So I use Function keys to trigger actions for those right click functions.  It is very satisfying tapping a key rather than right click and searching through that long drop down list.

    I went through the search bar previous to writing the message, but the "New Smart Object via Copy" command doesn't exist in the "Layer Panel" menu.

    I am searching for the "Layer Panel" command rather than the "application menu" command 🙂
    Which brings me to another Bug: Even though the command is chosen, it isnt highlighted in the actual workspace 😞

    Totally agree with you on the "list getting longer",  they also started moving positions of commands in the list depending on the type of layer you are hovering over. That's why, now more than ever, I need the highlighting option rather than waist time on searching for it. Hot key is a great solution, which I added to the "convert to smart object" but never remember to use...

    Ahhhh... Got you.

     

    A lot of the panel menus are contextual now, which thankfully reduces the clutter by excluding non relevant content.  We are spared having to navigate the longer menu on the right unless the selected layer has already been made a Smart Object.

    I don't know what to say about the green highlight you are showing us, as I don't remember ever seeing that.  Is it another version of the dark blue I see when I hover over a menue item?  Is that a Photoshop or OS thing?

     

    I don't know if you were concerned with shortcuts?  I think the Development Team takes the approach that so long as there is a route to create a shortcut, there's no need to duplicate it.
