License for this product has stopped working. Error: 150:30 running CS4

I own creative suite4 desing premium disks. And have used photoshop w/o much trouble.

After a reboot of my iMac running High Sierra, PS would not open and gave instead the error message that the license for this product has stopped working. 150:30

There are may pages on the adobe site that address this problem but none of the suggestions worked for me. The registration recovery launcher app will not open. I only get a pop-up message that "Power PC applications are longer supported."  Deleting the  Flexnet preferences or whatever did not work, either. when I navigate to my products page on Adobe's site, and enter a serial number there, I just get a red warning below that reads'" ! An error appeared while registering your product"  (??) PS4 was running on this computer since I bought the suite. It even worked after upgrading my OS. (I had to install the legacy Java stuff.)  Then, I needed to do a recovery of my machine after a crash.All went well, no troubles with any other apps except Adobe. It just stopped letting me open it. Clearly a known problem, but all instructions on the Adobesite, so far, are dead ends, like the recovery launcher app above. My job depends on this app. I can little afford to buy new when the one I have works fine for my needs. I need some help. Already "chatted" with Adobe for 1/2 hour and got nowhere. Any suggestions, please? Thanks. (I'm running High Sierra 10.13.6 on an iMAC from mid 2011. (I know it's old!)

It's a common problem with CS4 especially if restored from time machine or migrated. Doing so breaks activation and that's the reason for the 150:30 error code. Even then activation can randomly break.

Here is a way to repair it via Terminal and a supplied Python script. Study the instructions before trying the fix.

Thank you. I was a bit nervous working in Terminal before. Followed closely and held my breath... it worked! I'd make a note of saying that you need to be patient during this process. There were some times it appeared as tho nothing was happening after hitting the enter or y/n keys.

So what should I change about "Give the script a few minutes to run and it should let you know when it is finished.  When it is, Restart Photoshop CS4 and it should launch normally" to make it more understandable?

As someone who has run it for the first time, you can help me make it more clear for the next user.

Also since your repaired the license, do you have full working functionality for CS4 under 10.13.6?

You could have reinstalled CS4, but you would be back to a base install (11.0.0 I think) and have to run updates.

This script is an "in place repair", meaning you don't have to update, just run CS4 where you left off.

Final note, I think your Mac cannot be upgraded to Mojave 10.14.4, which might be good. Running anything as complex as CS4 software on a new system increases the chance of it breaking for good.

Sorry gener7. Your instructions are indeed clear. By the time I got to respond here, I simply forgot that tou had mentioned it. What threw me off at the time was that it seemed like nothing was happening. That is, there's no progress bar or anything and just sit tight and let it run. It took a few minutes for me and I almost stopped for worse of something worse happening. Like I said, I've never used Terminal before and code-like looking stuff makes me nervous. That's all. Your solution worked and it appears that I have full functionality, right where I left off. And, again, you are right. This machine can not upgrade to Mojave. It's old, I'm old... I appreciate your help. Thanks!
