License Stock image as transparent PNG, But PS saves/updates it as flat JPEG in my PS Library panel

I have a bunch of Transparent PNG images and when I license them, they update as FLAT JPEGs in my PS Panel and in my document and I can't figure out how to keep them as PNGs. But I can go and download them and I get the choice of JPEG or PNG and they download correctly.  But then I have to drag them all in a update individually.
I'm not seeing a preference that I can change to make them 'hold' as PNGs. The preview icon shows them as transparent, but says JPEG in the info next to it.
Thanks for the help.

I am also having this issue, with any asset I try to license within Photoshop 2026 (though this has been an ongoing issue for me for several years). I can download the assets directly from the Stock website as a png, but within Photoshop, I am not given an option of file type, and png files are all converted to jpeg upon licensing. I cannot find a setting anywhere to change a default file type for licensing images either.

before licensing, image is a png
window when licensing only shows jpeg
after licensing, image becomes jpeg

Hi @Poppleton_Chris_WBD! Welcome to the community!
I tried testing this on my end but couldn’t reproduce the issue. Could you share a few more details, like which version of Photoshop you’re using and whether this only happens with those specific images?
If possible, please include a screenshot of what the images look like originally, or share the affected images so we can test further.
Thanks so much!
