LRC Open in Layers in Photoshop crashes

When I use the LrC "Open in layers in Photoshop" command, with multiple images selected, PS opens but stops with error message "Load layers needs at least two files selected." This always worked fine until the latest updates PS (25.12.2) / LrC (14.5.1). How do I fix this?

This is a very annoying problem, it started with the latest update (2026) and i hope it will be fixed asap, it is a huge problem for my work 😞

Hey, @Glen26556279vb27 & @Kostas Fryganiotis. Welcome to the Photoshop Community. I'll help you figure this out. Based on the limited description, it is difficult to pin down. We'll need specific workflow info to be sure.

Please share a video of the issue and the system info from Photoshop Help > System info > Copy and paste into a text document > Upload and attach here.

As a test, try these steps:

1—Go to Photoshop > Settings > Performance > Advanced Settings > Disable/uncheck GPU Compositing & restart Photoshop.

2—Please test and confirm if Photoshop (Beta) has an issue. You can get Photoshop (Beta) from the Creative Cloud > Apps tab > Beta Apps section.

@Glen26556279vb27 It might be the latest PS update isn't able to handle this LrC file! How to fix it? I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but, you might need to go back to the previous working version
