This is a crash involving most of the functions involved in selection.
It's a crash caused by Nvidia GPUs and Photoshop, Adobe said.
In addition to the crash, in the latest version 23.5, many of the GPU-related features (such as Scrubby Zoom) do not work properly.

And for the functions that often crash, 23.5 said that it was temporarily changed to process it with CPU rather than GPU.
But because of that, the speed is extremely slow, it's still unstable, and it causes a crash.

There is something tested by many people in my post. Crashes occur from 23.0.0 to 23.4.2. Therefore, i recommend using 2021 or 2020 versions to avoid crashes.

We're sorry to hear about the trouble with the magic wand tool in Photpshop.

Since when are you seeing this issue? Is it after any update? Did you try re-installing the app?

What are your system specifications? (Goto Photoshop> Help> System Info> Copy> Paste it here)

Go to Photoshop's Preferences > Performance and uncheck Use Graphics Processor and restart Photoshop.
