Make a white layer

How do I make a white layer then turn it to a canvas. Then have my images put on to make a water colour print. Sorry for a simple question. Thanks

    Right thank you it was set on 16bit not 8 bit so that's fine and thank you.

    You can create new document with white background, or fill the layer with white, from layers panel menu> flatten image.

    or right mouse on the layer>flatten image.

    And to make a Layer a Background Layer in an image that has no Background Layer: Layer > New > Background from Layer

    If you are creating a new document

    1. Choose Background Contents > White from the left bottom of the New Document dialog.

    If you have an existing document

    1. Create a new layer by clicking on the Create a new layer icon found at the bottom of the Layers Panel.
    2. With the layer selected, choose Edit Menu > Fill
    3. Choose Contents > White.
    4. Ensure this layer is at the bottom of your layer stack

    Hi I can now get a white layer up but it will not let me go into filter gallery?

    check the file mode, it must be RGB

    then the filter gallery will be active.
