Hi,
I am new to photoshop.
I would like to preview a mask, so I select the level, I hover over the small preview press alt+click, but nothing happens.

What should I do?

Thanks

    Hi Enrico

Did your mask have some content? i.e. areas of black and areas of white.

You can see the levels Adjustment layer which is half filled with black.  The black hides the effect of the adjustment layer. The white reveals it.

If I hold down the Alt key and click on the layer mask, it shows the mask contents in the image window.

    Hi,
    Yes, it has.
I tried many times, I noticed that if I click on the small preview its
outline do not even get white.

    I think it's like I'm selecting nothing

We need topp see a screen shot of your entire workspace.

It needs to be full res, and show the layers and Propertie panels

Have the layer with the layer mask selected.

I think you are using Windows, so you can use the Snipping Tool to make the screen shot

Use the insert photos widget at the top of the window and paste the screen shot to it.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
