@Aleke, and anyone else who finds this, here's the workaround I'm using for this issue (see attached video). I duplicate the image, so as to not flatten the image and accidentally save, and then use the Merge Group command on the group with the mask. This will flatten the group into a layer and it doesn't apply the mask. Then I export the PNG. It would be nice if I didn't have to do this workaround, but it works until this gets fixed (hopefully someday 😁).
