Question

Method to select multiple paths has changed in Photoshop 2024?

In earlier version of photoshop i could hold down cmd+ctrl and select a whole path, then hold down cmd+ctrl+shift and select anywhere else on another path to add it to the selection. Now I can only add another path to the selection if i select a POINT on the path. This is very frustrating.

I also used to be able to hold down cmd+ctrl+shift and drag the paths to duplicate them, and this also now longer works. So now I have copy/paste and then reselect all the paths again, which is doubly frustrating because of the way selecting multiple paths has changed.

Have the keyboard shortcuts just changed or something? Is there something i can do to revert back to how it worked before?

Thanks

I honestly have trouble remember what is new and what has always been when it comes to Photoshop.  It all becomes muscle memory and works fine when you do it without thinking, but if you try to analyse, it turns to custard.  So I can't say for certain that this is new or has always been the case.

Ctrl click — selects entire path with no points active

Ctrl Alt click — selects entire path with all points active.

Shift Ctrl click second path — adds new path to selection but with only the nearest point active on second path

Shift Ctrl Alt second path — adds the second path with all points active.

Thanks Trevor!

How you described is indeed how it would work for me in earlier versions. All of your instructions work for me except:

Shift Ctrl Alt second path — adds the second path with all points active.

When I try, I even get a little + sign next to my cursor, but nothing happens when i click (unless i click on a point on the second path).

Perhaps it's a bug?

I tested with V26.3 release version on Windows 11.

I just tried it with V26.4 Beta and it was the same, but I noticed that it would not select a workpath on a separate path when I clicked on it, but worked OK if I instead dragge a tiny window over any part of the workpath.

I can check it on a MacBook Pro M2 Pro if it helps.
