Methods of making Drop Shadow
There is a easy mehod of making drop shadow. Why was this circuitous method used in this tutorial?

There are many techniques in Photoshop to accomplish more or less the same thing. The advantage to using Path Blur to create the drop shadow is that it gives you more control over the way the shadow looks. If you are happy with the Drop Shadow as a Layer Effect, then continue to use it. If you want another look for the shadow, then try this.
