missing "generate background" feature

When I click "remove background" in the contexual taskbar, I do not get an option to "generate background." Instead, I have options to add or remove from Mask. How do I get the "generate background" feature to show? (I am running Photoshop2024 on a MacStudio OS Sonoma 14.6.1)

Are you running the stable version of Photoshop? It appears that Generate Background is still in Beta and is only available in the Beta version of Photoshop, which can be installed alongside the stable version.

I am running the stable version. I downloaded the Beta and now have the missing features. Thanks for your help!

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
