(Move tool) - Align to canvas by default

Hello everybody. 

 

Whenever I make a new Smart layer, open it up and place an image

the alignment is set to 'Selection' and not 'Canvas'. 

 

Is there a way to have this automatically set to Canvas?

    Just a related side note tip, canvas/selection isn't recorded in an alignment action step. The work around is to record a select all before aligning the layer, then a deselect step afterwards. This acts the same as aligning to the canvas.

      I cannot reproduce the issue.
