Moving Between Photoshop and Lightroom

I use Photoshop (editing) and Lightroom (sharpening, printing), in my workflow. Since I do not want multiple versions of files, when I go from Photoshop to Lightroom I Save As the image, then open it in Lightroom. If I Save As the image twice, Lightrroom asks if I want to Overwite Settings or Import Settings from Disk, and I always select the latter. However, when I Save As the image from Lightroom once, I do not get the prompt regarding settings. Why do I get the prompt if I Save As the image twice but not once?

Not sure what you want to ask. Photoshop allows you to overwrite existing file while Lightroom does not, is that what you want to ask?

I am trying to understand your request. When you overwrite file using Photoshop then Lightroom knows that file under same reference have changed in the meantime, thats why it asks you whether you want to import data from file then to apply Lightroom adjustments. When exporting from Lightroom you are exporting new file so there is no change to existing file in Library and no need to ask whether you want to import newer version from disc.
