Multiple issues with Photoshop 27.10

For a company that charges an exorbitant premium subscription fee, their software stability is a absolute joke. A routine update completely destroyed the core Lightroom-to-Photoshop handshake workflow, rendering the standard 'Edit in Photoshop' feature entirely useless.

When you try to bypass their broken code pathways, you are met with flat, washed-out color profiles that fail to render correctly even when manually assigning the proper color spaces. Adobe clearly does not test their systems properly before forcing updates onto paying users. They are using their consumer base as live guinea pigs for broken code.

Instead of saving professionals time, Adobe’s lack of quality control turns simple, two-minute edits into hours of grueling tech support. It is completely incompetent, frustrating, and unacceptable for software that is supposed to be the industry standard. I am actively looking for alternatives to cancel my subscription.

It is not surprising that so many people are switching away from Adobe’s video editing software, Premier Pro. Adobe is an arrogant, greedy company.

The 27.10 update from photoshop is ruining all of my photos. Everything looks great when working in Camera RAW, but then suddenly when I open the photo into photoshop its completely different. Suddenly the all of the colors are beyond over saturated and the entire photo is overly darkened. I don’t understand how to fix this.

I'm having issues with this version too. For me it's RAW and DNG files not being recognized by the program, so I can't edit my images at all. With this version of Photoshop installed, Bridge behaves badly too: not only it won't open RAW or DNG from there too, but it won't show the previews and I can't review any image at all. So no brute files functionality at all for Bridge and Photoshop, I have to use Lightroom for everything until they plan to fix these issues. Rolling back to 27.9 version of Photoshop fixes both of the programs.

probably not because they don't know what they doing...they run same “engine” since 1989 and they just add and add and add new stuff but engine same.

then update in 2012 (CS6) with new engine Mercury so from last 14 years is...everything same but they just add extra stuff etc and big problem...”spaghetti code” where old engine try work with new ai,gpu etc but ofc that's didn't work neither

    I got amd 9950x3d

    5070ti 16gb

    x870 tomahawk

    64ram

    3x2 tB ssd

and because of old engine (they should learn from affinity photo 2 where software was created from noting and work stunning) my pc got lag, freeze  etc and simple task is heavy.

If adobe guys (I'm not sure if they know what they do) create new engine compatibility with new modern cpu/gpu im 100% sure they will have lots of costumers back but laziness got price and costumers switch to affinity because engine works much better

Your reply is a mile off reality.
Adobe have been moving the compositing engine over to the GPU over several versions and no doubt will continue for several more. Hence the additional preference options under Preferences >Performance and Preferences >Technology Previews.

@umarmughal Adobe do not give release dates in advance, but the bugs are acknowledged and, given the seriousness of the UI flickering and the broken color management, for which I rolled back to v27.9.1, I would not expect a long wait.

27.10 update causes flashing and flickering AND sky replacement feature completely broken and would not operate or function properly at all. Using Windows 11 25H2 desktop, not cloud.  Installed 27.9.1 and all is well again.

it’s very very bad. this is the first time i've ever had to roll back to a previous version of photoshop because it’s so glitchy. doing even the most basic edits causes the colors of your composition and the entire UI to flicker and toggle between a darkened version and a lighter version.

What version did you roll back to? I’m trying to edit a couple of photos and the entire UI is flickering back and forth between light/dark and high contrast, so I have no idea what the image actually looks like. Its beyond infuriating especially since they charge so goddamn much for this. Looking for alternatives to their creative suite. They take no pride in their software now that they know they have most of us where they want us.

IDK how this UI flickering bug could possibly have made it into the production version of Photoshop. Makes it seem like they literally made no effort to even test it before releasing lol. I reverted back to the 27.9 version that was available in creative cloud. UI flickering issue is gone now.

I can understand the frustration, especially when an update breaks a workflow that was working fine before. The Lightroom-to-Photoshop handoff and color management issues sound particularly problematic for anyone working with images professionally.

Before switching software completely, it may be worth checking whether the issues are specific to Photoshop 27.10 or related to the Lightroom version, color profile settings, or GPU acceleration. Hopefully Adobe can address these problems in a patch soon.

Same, Photoshop 27.10 is one of the worst updates I have personally ever experienced. I had to roll back to PS 2025, just to quickly start editing this morning to meet my deadlines as I couldn’t deal with 2026 issues anylonger. The dodge burn tool were the worst, keeps crashing my system and endless pinwheels with every click. Sorry don’t have much to contribute just needed to vent what a piece of junk the 27.10 update is.

Well, your choice of words may not be ideal, but software issues when working under tight time constraints can certainly be a test on one’s equanimity …

If you should find the time please install Photoshop 2026 anew (without uninstalling Photoshop 2025 obviously), try the usual all-purpose trouble-shooting routines, start a new thread with your System Info and screenshots/screen recordings to demonstrate the issue/s and post a link here.

    Hi @Andrew22209458uqjz

I’m truly sorry for the frustration and disruption these issues have caused to your workflow. I understand how upsetting it is when an update affects functionality you rely on professionally.

At Adobe, we thoroughly test updates before they are released. However, software can behave differently across the wide range of hardware, operating systems, drivers, color-management configurations, and other variables in individual environments. Unfortunately, some issues may only become apparent under specific configurations after a release.

The two issues you mentioned, Edit in Photoshop and washed-out/incorrect colors, are known issues. Our teams are aware of them and are actively working to address them as quickly as possible.

We recognize the impact this has had on your work. While these issues have now been identified, we understand that this does not make the time and effort you have already lost any less frustrating.

You can follow the latest updates and available workarounds here:

In the meantime, please try rolling back to Photoshop 27.9.1 after backing up your preferneces and let us know how it works for you.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience while our teams work toward resolving these issues.

When SO MANY USERS find the same bugs/errors, and take the time to write the same complaints not only here, but on X/twitter and others, wouldn’t you have to allow that “At Adobe, we thoroughly test updates before they are released” appears to lack a certain credibility in this case?
