Question

Music in background stops for two seconds when I save files in Photoshop

Hello,

I like to listen to music while working with my images in Photoshop. Every time I play an action to save files, the music I listen to in the background stops for a moment and then starts playing again. Could you please help me find the solution to this? Is it wrong processor settings or not enough memory or maybe something with graphic card? Thank you!

If you have Windows, try changing the priorities of tasks. Photoshop needs to be lowered, the player needs to be raised.

Audio and video playback need constant access to the CPU in order to keep the audio streaming. Photoshop is also a heavy user of the CPU particularly when saving files in a compressed format where all the file's data has to be processed to compress it and then save it to the disk. As such both applications are competing for the same resources and whilst you may not notice if Photoshop saves a little slower, glitches in audio playback are immediatley noticable.

There is often a buffer setting in the audio playback/streaming application that you could try increasing to reduce such glitches and gaps. You could also check Photoshop's Preferences >File handling and ensure that 'Save in Background' is checked.

Can you show us a screenshot of your Action for us? Resize the panel wider and taller so we can see all of it.

Does this happen when you Save without the Action?
