Question

My computer hangs after returning from sleep

Hi

I have the latest version of CC, and almost everytime my computer comes back from sleep and Illustrator or photoshop are running, the computer hangs, and I have to restart the entire machine.

Has anyone encountered this issue and can assist?

Thanks

Are you sure it is waking up from sleep rather than Hibernation?

What operating system are you using?  If Windows 10, then Hibernation is one of the first things I disable after installing the OS, because it tends to be so problematic.

Sleep is not as problematic as Hibernate, but I still prefer to turn it off.  Letting the screen(s) turn off has never caused me problems, so I leave that enabled, but Sleep is turned off.  Even if using a laptop, then using the 'When plugged in' parameter means power saving is not an issue.

Hi,

Thanks for your response, however, the computer enters sleep mode, not hibernation.

Without any system info of course nobody can tell you much. This may simply by a driver crashing completely unrealted to PS, possibly. Start by checking your event viewer/ system logs, comp through your devices' drivers and energy saving options and so on.

Hi Mylenium

Thanks for your reponse.

See below the specs. All the drivers are updated, and this only happens if I leave an adobe app running and the computer enters sleep.

I didn't see anything in the system\app event viewer that would explain  this. wht other system logs do you reccommend to check?

There is no hibernation enabled.

Thanks
