My Creative Cloud Desktop App Broke

This is more by way of a heads up.
 
I was getting concerned that I was seeing videos about the new Variance slider in ACR 17.4 (check it out, it's awesome), but  try as I might, I could not get  Photoshop to update.  Then I realised that I had not seen a Photoshop beta update in at least two weeks, which was unusual.
 
I also noticed the CCDA was showing all of my installed Adobe apps with Install rather than the usual Open next to them. I signed out and back in to the CC Desktop app, with no change.
 
I probably did things wrong from here, as I clicked on Install for PS Beta, and it installed the latest version with none of my settings (workspaces, shortcuts etc.).  Fortunately, I am paranoid about that stuff, and had copies of everything, so an easy fix. 
 
That's when I knew the CCDA had to be broken, but rather than reinstall, I used the Windows 11 Repair option in Settings > Programs and Features, and everything was back to normal, and with a LOT of updates!
 
I find that I need to reset Preferences more often with Photoshop beta, but hardly ever have issues other than that.

@Trevor.Dennis unless you are testing alot of stuff for Adobe and their Beta teams, Photoshop Beta is primarily for testing. Its purpose is for Adobe to roll out experimental features, bug fixes, and performance improvements before they are deemed stable enough for the official release.  Generally you won't need to reset preferences as often with the regular, stable version of Photoshop.
