Need to fill Lasso image with picture

Hi! 

 

I'm very new to photoshop and thought the goal of my project would be much easier than it seems. 

 

I have an image of a person with a shield, I am looking to replace the shield with a logo of a company. I have played around with the Lasso tool, but when I get to the fill otpion I can only change it for a color, not an image. Can anyone help me? Thank you!

    Please post the images in question. 

     

    I suspect you misunderstand Edit > Fill, what you should be using might be a Smart Object and a Layer Mask.

      Is it possible you can post the image on here so we can see what has to be selected, so that we can suggest the best way to make the selection?

      The replacement image needs to be on a separate layer below the person with the shield.
