Need to restart Photoshop every 3-5 edited photos

Since more than a year I have a problem with Liquify in Photoshop. Every 3-5 edited photos, when trying to use Liquify, I get "Could Not Complete Liquify Command because of a disk error". When this error comes up, I have to restart Photoshop and I can retouch another 3-5 photos untill problem comes again. What's more, when liquify stops working, there is also problem with other filters, like lens blur. It doesn't work too untill restarting Photoshop. I was hoping that maybe some updates will fix this, but I struggle with it over a year and it's too annoying now to wait any longer. Not to mention that recently Photoshop wiped all my user settings, but thankfully I had an old backup. What can I do to fix this error?
