Neon blocks on image

Hi Adobe Comminity,

I'm really struggling with something and wondered if anyone knows wehats going on. I'm a wedding stationer and paint out my designs which I then photograph and edit in photoshop. Recently my photoshop has been overlaying these crazy neon colours on top of my images. I've tried changing colour settings, updating and restoring my photoshop back to factory settings, re-photographing the images and creating new files....nothing seems to work!

Can anyone guess as to what is going on?

Thanks!

@Charlotte5EDA you're using the Beta version, Beta versions should only be used for trying out the new features and are not recommended for normal Photoshop use, try reporting the issue on the Photoshop Beta forum

@Charlotte5EDA Photoshop might be stuck in a Quick Mask mode overlay. The red/pink and sometimes green/blue translucent overlays are a visual indicator that you're in Quick Mask mode.  The letter "Q" is the shortcut to toggle between Standard Mode and Quick Mask Mode. Try pressing the "Q" key on your keyboard. This should switch you back to Standard Mode and remove the color overlay. Let me know if this helps.

@creative explorer if the OP was in quick mask mode, the layer would be highlighted in red and the quick mask mode icon would be enabled, that is not the case in the OP's screenshot

Hi @Ged_Traynor , gosh I didnt even realise that and I've been using Beta this whole time! Thank you for pointing this out. I've had a go at opening the files in normal photoshop and it looks to have solved the issue!

Thanks so much!
