New gradient tool has a couple MAJOR issues

Here are two screen recordings to illustrate two issues with the gradient tool that make it un-unusable. This can only be an oversight by adobe, right?

1. Gradient moves out of position when canvas size is changed:

2. Gradient does not move when you move the group its in, or the gradient itself (and you can see the masks are all locked)

    This is a major flaw that makes working in Photoshop a pain, can the devs get to this???

      I can't believe they haven't fixed this problem yet. It's such an major issue. We use gradients a lot in compositions, and now when you move a layer the gradient layer never follows. And there's no fix for that. What a pain...

      Adobe dev team is truly a laughing stock at this point. What an embarassment.

      Great insight, thank you Jeff. Just to clarify, does that mean currently there is no option to fix this?

        Seems to me the flaw is that Align with layer is not on by default for the "new" Gradient Tool.

         

        If one uses an Gradient Fill Adjustment Layer or Gradient Fill layer style then Align with layer is

        checked by default and doesn't the exhibit the issue of moving or changing position when moving the

        Group or extending the canvas.

         

        The Properties panel for the "new" Gradient Tool has neither a setting for Align to layer or Fit to document.
