Question

New Mainboard, Serial locked

Hey there,

I put a new Mainboard, CPU and PSU into my PC and upgraded to Win11, unfortunately I can't use my CS6 Design and Web Premium anymore as the software thinks the Serial is in use on another PC.
Is there a way to reset or deactivate the installations? I only have the options to repeat the activation or to enter another Serial, I can't deactivate them myself.

If you didn't deactivate before changing these system components, that activation is lost. Adobe no longer resets activation counts. The only way is to deactivate first (Help menu > Deactivate).

If both activations are used up, that CS6 copy is now dead and useless.

I have just dug up the old mainboard with the old CPU and RAM still in place, wired it up and installed windows and PS, just to deactivate the serial there.
The installation worked, it even accepted the serial at first, but deactivation was not possible. after a re-start, I got the prompt again that the serial is activated on too many PCs.

At which point does the activation accept the PC again as the PC it was originally installed on? I understand that there is a restriction to avoid installing it on everyone's PC but I don't want to accept that I just have lost the access to this piece of pretty expensive software.
