no pixles selected for Healin brush. why?

Hi, recently struch thus error for the first time, while using the healing brish to spot out dust spots.

what is strange is that is could easily spot other aares of the image with the healing brush, but a few spots would always give this error.? very inconsistent..

That error usually means there is an active selection on the image, and the spots giving the error are outside of it. Press Ctrl+D (Cmd+D on a Mac) to deselect everything, then try the Healing Brush on those spots again. If it still happens, check that the photo layer itself is selected in the Layers panel and not a mask or an empty layer.
