non-working CTRL+SHIFT+F (FADE) command!!!!!

When we issue a command from the action panel, the fade command (CTRL+SHIFT+F) doesn't work. The action panel is terrible. It slows things down incredibly. I had to revert to the previous version.

classic actions ta panel change it. BUT  It keeps adding Actions. before the command in the History panel!!!! and the FADE command doesn't work!!
The FADE command only works when something is applied from the menu.

When an action is triggered by a defined action in the Action panel, for example, when Unsharp Mask is applied, it appears like this in the History Panel: Action.Unsharp Mask and the FADE command are not working!!!!

Can you confirm what version of Photoshop you are referring to?  There was an update to the Actions panel with 27.6 released today, so it is quite possible that it has issues.

When you record the action, do you select Fade from the Edit menu, or use the shortcut? I’ve always thought it safer to use the application menus.

Fade needs something to work on, and you’ll know that Fade must be used immediately or it will be greyed out.  Could that be what is going on?  The Action stalls because Fade is greyed out?

Is this the only way the updated actions panel is slowing your workflow?  The more information you give, the better you will be understood.

Colin Smith described the changes to the Actions panel in this video today.

Hey, @eraydigital. Please follow this advice, and if this still does not help, record a video of your entire workflow and share it here.

    Thanks!

Good to know: You can switch back to the old Actions panel even in the newest 27.6 release.
