Open documents not visible

Hi

This is a nuisance that I've having with some regularity in Photoshop CC2019:

I open an imagefile by double clicking on its icon -- in Finder, or in an email if it's an attached file. And then I see nothing -- it doesn't appear to open in Photoshop. But if I check the 'Window' menu in PS, the document is listed as being open. It just can't be seen anywhere. I have discovered that I can make the document appear by turning 'Application Frame' on (which doesn't fix it) and then off again (which does). So that's an effective workaround, but it seems like a bug.

Anyone know what's going on?

best,

Kurt

Sounds like the image opens 'off screen'. Like you had two screens and opened images on the screen that is no longer connected. Or used to have a much bigger screen and opened the images in an area that is outside the current screen. Maybe resetting the preferences will help.
