Question

Opening pictures in Photoshop through Lightroom

it is becoming entirely too long for pictures to open up in Photoshop by way of Lightroom. I have seen others have the same issue and I have checked the space on my computer as well as updated both programs and nothing has changed. It is increasing the timeframe of me editing some of the most simplest photo shoots by adding hours. Any help with this issue?

Have you tried turning off GPU acceleration under Preferences > Performance in Lightroom to test if it speeds up? Half the time when LR-to-PS handoffs start crawling out of nowhere, it's a buggy graphics driver update messing with the Camera Raw pipeline.

Also worth checking if your External Editing preferences in LR are set to TIFF instead of PSD.

Hi @Giddy_videographer975f, it sounds like you have enough free space on your SSD for caching, so that's probably not it. Do you happen to have the "Auto Show the Home Screen" option checked in Photoshop? If so, disable that, as it does slow things down. Preferences > General tab.

If you post your Photoshop system info, we'll take a look under the hood for you to see if anything stands out. Help > System Info.
