Paths only update when I force the screen to re-draw

I've had this issue for a while and I assumed it was a graphics card issue, so put off reporting it until after I got a new graphics card. However the problem persists since updating to a new GPU.

 

When I draw a path around an object, nothing appears (lines or nodes), until I force the screen to re-draw (usually I just spacebar-drag as it's the quickest method).

 

This makes drawing clipping paths all but impossible, I've attached a before and after to show the issue.

 

I've tried turning off and on 'anti-alias guided and paths', this makes no difference.

Make sure your integrated card is disabled, that seems to cause a lot of problems. The discreet GPU should be plenty. You want to have updated Studio (not gaming) drivers.

That was it, updated to the studio drivers and disable dthe integrated GPU - all good now. Cheers.

    Make sure your integrated card is disabled, that seems to cause a lot of problems. The discreet GPU should be plenty. You want to have updated Studio (not gaming) drivers.

    Thanks for your replies, I've tried resetting tools and even reinstalling completely.

    Older GPU mode was already on, I'd tried it off and still the same result.

    I've just updated the graphics card, still the same.

     

    Is manually resetting preferences different from reinstalling Photoshop?

    If so I'll try this and report back.

    Please post the results of Help->System Information and Help->GPU Compatibility, that way we can see what hardware you have.

    Go to Preference - Tech Preview - Check "Older GPU Mode", and its same result?
    Usually, I went through that when I had problems with GPUs in Photoshop. (Of course, I wasn't the same problem as you, but the rubber band of Path is disabled, and the black path line is fluorescent.)
