Pen/eraser lag when i use my pen

Hi everyone

for the last 2 months probably, i've been having an issue on photoshop where when im trying to erase using my meta pen it doesn't show what im erasing until after ive lifted my pen off my ipad. i dont have this issue else where and it really came out of the blue. one day i was able to erase perfectly fine and then the next day when i went back to the same task i started experiencing this "lag". 

Smoothing is at 0% 

it just doesn't show me rubbing anything out at all while my pen is on the screen no matter how long i wait. it only ever shows after ive lifted

Hi @phoebe_1754! Welcome to the community!

I'm sorry to hear you're having issues with Photoshop. Could you let me know the exact model of the stylus you're using for your tablet?

Please make sure it's one of the pens officially supported by Photoshop. Third-party styluses often have issues with pressure sensitivity, brush strokes not appearing until you lift the pen, and other problems when used with Photoshop on the iPad.

Just had a look and it's not on the list, but it's the metapen A11. Been using it since i started uni in september and only started having issues with it erasing and writing in March/April. Everything else works fine with the pen though on photoshop. Thank you

Input devices that are not officially supported may have conflicting gesture inputs, which can cause latency and limit our support options. Please record your screen and share a video of what you see.
