Persistent “Disk Error” in Photoshop even after full system upgrade (Windows 11, RTX 3060)

I’m currently experiencing the “Disk Error” issue in Photoshop. Because of this, I can only use version 25.9.1. Whenever I need new features, I temporarily switch to version 27.0 (the latest release), but the same error always occurs.

I’ve reviewed several troubleshooting guides, and most suggest disabling “Use Graphics Processor.” However, this defeats the purpose of having a powerful NVIDIA RTX 3060, so I’d prefer to keep GPU acceleration enabled.

Here’s everything I’ve tried so far:

• Updated NVIDIA drivers to the latest Studio version (previously used the Game Ready version). The issue persists on both.

• Upgraded my graphics card from GTX 1060 → RTX 3050 → RTX 3060, but the error still occurs.

• Upgraded Windows from 22H2 to 25H2, same issue.

• Renamed Adobe settings to “Adobe settings old” and reinstalled Photoshop — no change.

• Purchased a new SSD, set it as the only scratch disk, still no success.

• Installed the latest Adobe Photoshop Beta — still encountering the same problem.

• Replaced my Windows (M.2) drive from 256GB → 500GB, even tested another 256GB drive — same result.

• Ran Photoshop as Administrator — issue remains.

• Switched Remove Tool Processing to “More Stable” — no improvement.

• Disabled all plugins and re-enabled them one by one — the error persists.

Current system configuration:

• CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-12700 (2.10 GHz)

• RAM: 64 GB (63.8 GB usable)

• GPU: NVIDIA RTX 3060 (12 GB)

• Storage:

  • M.2 256 GB (Windows drive)

  • M.2 1 TB, SSD 1 TB, HDD 2 TB ×2 (all tested as scratch disks)

• Operating System: Windows 11, version 25H2

Ironically, this error has led me to upgrade almost my entire PC setup — yet the problem persists. I’d really appreciate any insight or update on whether Adobe is investigating this issue.

Mình hiện đang gặp lỗi “Disk Error” trong Photoshop. Vì lỗi này, mình chỉ có thể sử dụng phiên bản 25.9.1. Khi cần các tính năng mới, mình tạm thời chuyển sang phiên bản 27.0 (phiên bản mới nhất hiện nay), nhưng lỗi vẫn tiếp tục xảy ra.

Mình đã tham khảo nhiều hướng dẫn khắc phục, phần lớn khuyên tắt tùy chọn “Use Graphics Processor”, tuy nhiên nếu tắt thì sẽ lãng phí khả năng xử lý của card đồ họa NVIDIA RTX 3060, nên mình muốn giữ tính năng này bật.

Dưới đây là những gì mình đã thử:

• Cập nhật driver NVIDIA lên bản Studio mới nhất (trước đó dùng bản Game Ready, nhưng lỗi vẫn vậy).

• Nâng cấp card đồ họa từ GTX 1060 → RTX 3050 → RTX 3060, nhưng vẫn lỗi.

• Nâng cấp Windows từ 22H2 lên 25H2, vẫn lỗi.

• Đổi thư mục Adobe settings thành “Adobe settings old”, rồi cập nhật lại — không hiệu quả.

• Mua ổ cứng SSD mới, chọn làm scratch disk duy nhất, vẫn lỗi.

• Cài Adobe Photoshop Beta (phiên bản mới nhất) — vẫn gặp lỗi tương tự.

• Thay ổ M.2 cài Windows từ 256GB → 500GB, thậm chí thử ổ 256GB khác — vẫn bị lỗi.

• Chạy Photoshop bằng quyền Administrator — vẫn lỗi.

• Chuyển Remove Tool Processing sang “More Stable” — vẫn không khắc phục được.

• Tắt tất cả plugin, rồi bật lại từng cái — lỗi vẫn tiếp tục.

Cấu hình hệ thống hiện tại:

Mình rất mong Adobe có thể xem xét và cập nhật thông tin nếu đội kỹ thuật đang điều tra vấn đề này.
