Photo not saving properly

I re-edited a 2017 image but found that image wasn't saving properly. The saved thumbnail resembles a transparency but when reopened in PS, looks fine. However, file size is a fraction of original image. Any suggestions.

I can't open and refuse to download attachments until the new Community is rolled out as promised by staff. Sorry.

But I need to ask, did you really open a thumbnail? Thumbnails are less than 100px on a side. I don't even know how you'd open a thumbnail. Now, if you clicked on a thumbnail in Finder or Ps>File>Open, and the resulting file is unhappily small, something happened in the Save you did. I hope you saved the original.

Hi @JanetBZ12, Thanks for reaching out! I hope I am understanding this issue correctly. This usually happens due to file format or thumbnail settings. If you saved as JPEG, the smaller file size is expected because JPEG uses compression and does not support transparency. For full fidelity, save as PSD or TIFF. In Photoshop Preferences under File Handling, set “Maximize PSD and PSB File Compatibility” to Always to fix thumbnail previews. If issues persist, try manually resetting your Photoshop preferences: https://adobe.ly/49J8c1E

Remember to back up your settings before doing the preference reset: https://adobe.ly/4pytfZD. If this is not the issue, could you please explain in more detail what result you're looking for, what result you're seeing, and the steps to recreate it? I hope this helps! ^CH
