Photoshop 2019 Transform Snap issue

I upgraded to Photoshop 20.0.0 and I noticed an issue where the Distort tool under Edit > Transform snaps to various coordinates on my layer. This makes using the tool impossible. I went to View and turned off all snapping and yet it persists. How is this turned off?

My snap settings are ON, but don't work. I want snapping in the free transform. So frusturating.

I found that in edit > Preferences >  Tools there is a ticked "Snap Vector tools and Transforms to Pixel Gid," but unticking this doesn't help at all -_-)

    This is actually pretty crazy.

With Transform > Distort, it snaps to one side of the bounding box, and pressing shift "releases" or unsnaps it so you can move freely.

OK. I can work with that.

Then switch to the Perspective Crop tool, which you would basically use in the same situations. It solves the same problem from a slightly different angle, right? But wait - this one works in the exact opposite way! The tool natively works freely, and then pressing shift snaps to the bounding box edges!

Someone should sit down and clean this stuff up. I don't really care if it's one or the other - but a minimum should be internal consistency.

I didn't see very many correct answers here, I ended up solving this myself. Since the upgrade to 20.0, to FREELY transform and image is SHIFT+Command (Mac.) drag corner.

Oh, that very well might be the case. But at least you have company.

Strangely, shift now works inconstantly within Photoshop and with other CC apps, but it's not all bad.

In the context above, shift is used to distort an image with no constraints and no snap. However, with Photoshop 2019 comes the ability to finally have the resizing of an image to work correctly...sort of. Pressing ctrl + t brings you into Free Transform mode. Before, you could resize by holding shift and dragging a corner and only a corner. Even if you held shift, dragging an image from any of the sides would not result in a constrained resize, even though that's how it worked in other apps such as Illustrator.

In Photoshop 2019 you can finally constrain an image by dragging both the sides and the corners. Though, they've totally filliped everything around. Holding shift at this point does not constrain the image, but releasing shift and dragging the sides and corners does. It's totally counterintuitive to how we've come to understand how the shift button should work.

I'm happy that I can finally do a constrained resize by manipulating the sides, but at the same time I'm puzzled at Adobe's design thinking. So much so that I'm wondering if this was even intentional. It might be a bug in the code somewhere.

I understand the Shift thing. The problem is that I can't freely distort an image, it snaps to various coordinates.
