Photoshop 2022 scatchdisk list

Hi,

I am using a Mac Mini M1 with Monterey 12.2.1 and Photoshop 2022. The mac sits on a Stand Hub with SSD enclosure where I have installed a WD BLUE 1tb SSD. The drive is broken in 2 partitions both formated in Mac OS Plus.

There are 4 external USB drives connected to the MAc and when I open preferences / Virtual Memory Disks only 4 options appear. The first one is the main boot drive and the other 3 are external HDDs. No sight of the internal WD BLUE SSD.

I try to disconnect all External drives but still Photoshop does not see the internal WD BLUE SSD.

Any idea why this could be happening and how to solve it?

Thank you,

Carlos

Hi Carlos,

Thanks for reaching out. Sorry for the trouble with scratch disk Photoshop. We are here to help!

Photoshop can use the external drive as a scratch disk if the external drive is formatted as HFS+ or "Mac OS Extended (Journaled) format. Reformatting the external drive will wipe it clean. Please ensure you move all the existing files and documents on the external drive before you format the external drive.

Please refer to the correct answer by gener7 on this thread for the steps for formatting the external drive:

We hope this helps in setting up the scratch disks.

Regards,

Sameer K

Thank you for your answer.

I have both paritions formated wit "Mac OS Plus (with register)" since the only other format options are the APFS options, MS-DOS (FAT) and Ex-FAT.

APFS is a better choice for an M1 Mac.
