Photoshop 2025 not launching after update to v 26.6

Hi everyone and first of all I apologise if this is a duplicate post!

As per the title, I updated to Photoshop 2025 version 26.6 yesterday morning, but now it will not launch. I am running Windows 11 pro and from the Task Manager (see attached screenshot) I can see that Photoshop is running as a background process, but that is all I can get. I have tried all options that I can find in previous posts on here, including uninstalling all Adobe apps and then reinstalling them, with no result. And yes I have ended the task in Task Manager each time. I have even tried installing the Photoshop Beta app, but the same thing happens.

If anybody can help, I would be eternally grateful.

I had similar issues with BETA after an update. After investigation, I found that if I navigated to the Photoshop folder and launched the EXE from there (NOT the start menu or shortcuts) it would launch ok

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

Thank you. Nothing in the forums helped, so I resorted to the system restore feature on my PC and that enabled me to re-install all my Adobe apps.
