Photoshop 2025 – Slice Export Issue

When exporting slices from an artboard, the preview inside Photoshop shows the correct alignment, but in the “Save for Web” export the slice shifts 1 pixel to the right, creating an unwanted gap/misalignment.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Create an artboard with slices aligned to guides.

  2. Check alignment inside Photoshop → everything looks correct.

  3. Go to File, Export, Save for Web (Legacy).

  4. The exported preview shows the slice shifted by 1px to the right.

Expected result:
Slices should export exactly as they appear on the artboard, without any pixel shift.

Actual result:
Slices are exported with a 1px horizontal offset.

Try selecting the artboard first, then use Layer > Duplicate Artboard... Destination document = New

Then try saving the slices, do you still get the same issue?

EDIT: Of course, that doesn't work, as slices are document based, not layer based!

Hi @marcol127950, welcome to the community!

I gave this a try on my end but wasn’t able to reproduce the issue. Could you let us know which exact version of Photoshop you're using, and whether this happens with every file? Also, when you export using Save for Web, does the 1-pixel offset show up in the final image, or is it just in the preview?

As a first step, I’d suggest resetting your Photoshop preferences. That’ll restore everything to default in case something internal got corrupted. Here’s how you can do that: https://adobe.ly/3K4SCTW

Thanks again for reaching out!
