Photoshop 2025 v.26 Brush Tool Issues, appearing as single dots.

Hi,

As a digital painter heavily reliant on Photoshop, I've always valued the software's precision and responsiveness. However, I've encountered a significant issue with the latest version, 2025 v.26.

When using the brush tool, the strokes are frequently interrupted, appearing as single dots. This behavior only resolves after switching to another window and then back. This is incredibly disruptive, especially when recording demonstration videos for my work!

Given the subscription-based nature of Photoshop, it's frustrating to consistently encounter such bugs with each new update (and you need to try to resolve them by yourself?)

I don't know how to fix it, sorry for the bad words. I'm just mad for now T__T

My circle brush cursor just freezes at one point, but photoshop will still be tracking my mouse movement. This only happens when the brush is at a medium-big size. What's going on in these new updates.... We don't want problems we just want to work in peace with no disruptions lol.

It's always better to start a new thread in your situation. That way we would know what operating system you were using from the thread tags, and we'd have a clue as to which Photoshop version?

So what operating system and version are you using?

What Photoshop version?

Reference to the last post from last year, what do your brush settings look like?

Is this happening with all brush presets and tools that use the same cursor(s)?

When did it start, and does it tie in with something changing?  You mentioned an update.  Which one.

Dispite you finding this old thread, this is not a frequent issue.  You are the first person I have seen reporting it in the 16 years I have been doing this.  It might, just possibly, be a corrupted settings file, and solved with a Preference reset, but my guess is that something is broken.  Either with Photoshop or your operating system.

If you open Photoshop and go Help > System Info > Copy and paste to this thread, that will tell us what you are using.

If you have the beta version installed, then we can get an idea whether this is an OS or Photoshop issue.

Does this happen wilth all the Brush presets, or only a few? In the Brush Settings panel, is the Spacing value set to a very high value?
