Was bereits gemacht wurde:

x Photoshop 2026 de- und neu installiert: Keine Änderung.

x Downgrade auf die vorherige Version: (26.11.3.): alles läuft wieder normal.

Frage – ist irgendwas an Problemen dazu bekannt?

Setting:

Photoshops 2026 (27.4.0.15)

Windows 11

Grafik: Nvidia RTX 4090

Wacom Intuos Pro

WintTab statt Windows Ink (https://helpx.adobe.com/de/photoshop/kb/enable-optional-extensions-photoshop-cc.html#Howtoenableextensions)

System und alle Treiber sind aktuell.

    Hello Community.

After some experimentation, I've found a solution (for me) to the problem:

Apparently, newer Photoshop versions from 27.4 onwards no longer work with WinTab – but, and this is the good news, they work perfectly with Windows Ink. (as of now).

The pressure sensitivity also now works with Windows Ink, so the WinTab interface is no longer needed in Photoshop. 🤓👍

More details are available in this thread if you're interested:

    Ah – sorry.

I was reading the Windows system information, not the Photoshop information.

Here it is now (read while everything was running normally).

In the Event Viewer, I'm currently getting this message once during startup:

“ID 263: Information is missing for a pointing device about the monitor it is connected to.”

This could be related to the fact that the Wacom driver has been starting with a delay (or requiring manual startup) since the Photoshop update.

However, I've been getting the error message itself on and off for a while now – without noticing any effect (the delayed driver startup is the only new issue).

@HubertusausBerlin  I don’t see any issues in your system info.

I’ve read in one of your older post

One thing is certain: like many Wacom users, I'm reliant on WinTab instead of Windows Ink, as print control in Photoshop doesn't work for me with Windows Ink.

    For example: https://community.adobe.com/questions-712/no-pen-pressure-in-26-2-1175763

If I understand this correct, Photoshop 27.4 is working for you during you’ve deactivate Windows Ink. But you need this fro using the pen pressure. Is this right?

But in my Wacom tablet option I has already deactivate “Windows Ink”

I use the PSUserConfig.txt method and I can use pen pressure.

    Follow the steps below.

    1. Create txt file named: PSUserConfig.txt and type inside: UseSystemStylus 0
    2. Turn off the "Windows Ink" in my Wacom Tablet properties (see above)
    3. Copy txt file to:C:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop 20nn\Adobe Photoshop 20nn Settings.

    Hi Axel.

    Thanks for the tip!

That's exactly what I've been doing for a long time. And it still works perfectly in version 27.3.1.

It only seems to be having problems with the new 27.4 update.

Suddenly, the Wacom driver is acting up. It stopp working and I have it to restart. Or I have to switch back and forth between Photoshop and the Wacom driver UI until Photoshop "continues" to work.

I've already tried everything. I've reinstalled Photoshop several times. Once from scratch, without any of the old preferences. I uninstalled and reinstalled the Wacom driver. No change whatsoever.

Since nothing worked, I'm thinking maybe Adobe has made a change to how it handles the Windows graphics subsystem that conflicts with the old WinTab interface. Or similar. So for now, I'll stick with version 27.3.1.

Maybe a patch will come soon—or Wacom will release a new driver version... I hope.

Sorry, but The system information is incomplete again. The content of the file is the same as you posted in the past.

You system info consits of 45 lines. I’ve check my system info and I see approx. 600 lines.

It’s possible that you have less of lines, because it depends on the configuration, the numbere of the installed plugins etc.

Open the System Info from the Photoshop menu item Help > System Info. With the scrollbar on the right side of the window you can scroll up and down. Make sure the the whole content in the dialog windows is selected. Then press the  copy button in the System Info dialog. Press this button and paste the info into a new text file.

You can also check your Windows Event Log if there are appropriate entries which indicate a Photoshop problem.

What Is the Windows Event Viewer, and How Can I Use It?

    Ok!

    The setting again:

    Photoshops 2026 (27.4.0.15)

    Windows 11 (25H2)

Graphics: Nvidia RTX 4090 (latest graphics driver: studio 591.74)

Wacom Intuos Pro (PTH 860 + PTH 660) (latest driver: 6.4.12_3)

→ Windows Ink is disabled in the Wacom UI – Photoshop is running with WinTab (https://helpx.adobe.com/de/photoshop/kb/enable-optional-extensions-photoshop-cc.html#Howtoenableextensions ) – because no pressure controll is possible with Windows Ink in Photoshop.

The system info aren’t complete. It seems that the new forum software has a issue with the mass of lines.

Please copy the system info into a .txt file and attach it to your next post.

Unfortunately, it turned out today that the problem persists. ☹️

There definitely seems to be an issue with the interaction between Photoshop 27.4 and the latest Wacom driver 6.4.12-3, specifically regarding the use of Win Tab.

The same problem occurred again: the program freezes after a few strokes. Only after switching to the Wacom UI of the driver (where Windows Ink is disabled—and must be for pressure sensitivity to work) does Photoshop continue and makes up the last steps after freezing.

I have since uninstalled and reinstalled the Wacom driver - without effect.

I think I'll downgrade back to version 27.3.1 for now.

It would be great if this problem could be fixed!

I've tried a few things and here's what I got.

It's a bit strange – and I'm not sure what to make of it:

After reinstalling and deleting the settings, version 27.4 worked perfectly.

However, as soon as I tried to activate WinTab and added the corresponding file to the settings (https://helpx.adobe.com/de/photoshop/kb/enable-optional-extensions-photoshop-cc.html#Howtoenableextensions), I could only make a couple of strokes with the pen – and then the program froze again.

I had to switch from the program to the desktop several times before I could at least close the program.

As I later saw in the Windows Reliability History (and Task Manager), it wasn't Photoshop that had crashed, but the Wacom driver (WacomCenterUI).

When I ran Photoshop again (the Wacom driver was working again), I tried enabling and disabling Windows Ink in the Wacom driver a few times (and finally left it disabled).

Since then, everything has been working as usual (WinTab, Windows Ink disabled).

I'll be monitoring how stable this remains in the long run. Perhaps that was the solution.

One thing is certain: like many Wacom users, I'm reliant on WinTab instead of Windows Ink, as print control in Photoshop doesn't work for me with Windows Ink.

    For example: https://community.adobe.com/questions-712/no-pen-pressure-in-26-2-1175763

Perhaps someone could investigate whether there's a conflict between the Wacom driver, WinTab, and Photoshop… 🤔

As mentioned, everything still works perfectly in version 27.3.1, including WinTab (PSUserConfig.txt method - best practice). The Wacom driver has also never crashed. This has only happened so far in direct conjunction with Photoshop 27.4.

    Thank you for the replies!

Here's a correction to my previous information: I downgraded to version 27.3.1 (not 26.11.3) – and everything works normally with the existing preferences.

However, I'll try deleting the preferences and then provide feedback.
