Photoshop 2026 – Generative Fill becomes stuck on “Generating…”

Hi Adobe,

Since updating to the latest Photoshop version, Generative Fill occasionally gets stuck on “Generating…” and never returns a result.

It seems to happen more frequently with larger selections, while smaller selections usually work. Restarting Photoshop temporarily helps, but the issue comes back.

I’ve also tried disabling/re-enabling the Graphics Processor, but it doesn’t seem to make a difference.

Is this a known issue with the current version, or is there a recommended workaround?

Photoshop: 27.9.1
OS: Windows 11

      Do you have the beta version installed, and if yes, how does it compare?

      When you say ‘never’ how long do you give it and what action do you take?

      How big is the document image size in pixels?

      What model(s) in particular behave this way, or is it all models?

      What country are you in?

      What is your internet connection like? (i.e. how fast? How reliable)

      Perhaps show us a result from Ookla.speedtest

      Hi there,
      I have same issues.
      After hitting generate, a split of a second and stops, nothing happens, no warning.
      Trying to find solution for the third day already, with the uninstalling Photoshop version(s) (installed older versions, all the way to 2025…!?), uninstalled creative cloud, signed out and back in, cleared all photoshop caches, shut down the computer, restarted, unchecked Multithreaded composting in preferences, … nothing. Tried on many images (high and low res), rgb, cmyk, 8 bit, … I have almost all tokens, high speed connectivity.
      From Slovenia, macbook pro.
