Photoshop 2026 hanging after movie render

This problem has happened in many versions of Photoshop over the years. I hadn’t seen it lately so I thought it was finally fixed, but maybe not…

One possible solution that‘s worked for some:

Go to the following folder (or a similar one if they updated the number) and try temporarily removing it:
/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/Plug-ins/7.0/MediaCore

If video rendering works OK after that, the problem is a conflict with a plug-in in that folder.

Note that path is not to the Library folder within your user Home folder, it’s the Library folder at the root level of the startup system volume.

Could you help us with a few more details, like whether this issue occurs with all supported formats or only with specific ones? When did you start noticing this issue? Maybe after an update to the application or the OS? Please share a screenshot of your export settings as well.

In the meantime, you can try these fixes to see if they help improve the situation.

1) Turn off the GPU: In Photoshop's Preferences > Performance > uncheck "Use Graphics Processor".
