Photoshop 2026 hanging after movie render

I'm having an issue with Photoshop 2026 (27.0.0) hanging after rendering a movie.

The movie renders ok, but the 'blob' spinning cursor just spins forever. The app isn't being reported as 'non-responsive' in the macOs 'force quit' dialogue, but it never comes out of this state and requires a force quit to do so.

I'm on Tahoe 26.0.1

This problem has happened in many versions of Photoshop over the years. I hadn’t seen it lately so I thought it was finally fixed, but maybe not…

One possible solution that‘s worked for some:

Go to the following folder (or a similar one if they updated the number) and try temporarily removing it:
/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/Plug-ins/7.0/MediaCore

If video rendering works OK after that, the problem is a conflict with a plug-in in that folder.

Note that path is not to the Library folder within your user Home folder, it’s the Library folder at the root level of the startup system volume.

Hi @FlyingSaucy! Thank you for reaching out! Sorry to hear that you're experiencing this behavior with Photoshop. Could you help us with a few more details, like whether this issue occurs with all supported formats or only with specific ones? When did you start noticing this issue? Maybe after an update to the application or the OS? Please share a screenshot of your export settings as well.

In the meantime, you can try these fixes to see if they help improve the situation.

1) Turn off the GPU: In Photoshop's Preferences > Performance > uncheck "Use Graphics Processor".

2) Make sure Photoshop has all the necessary permissions required: Here's how you give full disk access to Photoshop: Learn how to give full disk access to Photoshop on... - Adobe Product Community - 12889716

3) Reset preferences: Before you reset Photoshop's preferences, it is advised to back them up first. Here's the HelpX article for steps and more info: Backup and restore preferences

Let us know how it goes!

Please use @ before mentioning my username so that I can be notified ASAP.
