Photoshop 2026 just stopped responding to any commands. It stopped saving my file even though I kept working and hitting SAVE regularly. Then it crashed and it never saved anything I did the whole day. Also no auto recovery. This is devestating

I lost all the work I did over the entire day even though I was hitting Cmd+S regularly and still had the ability to work it never saved anything. Then I lost complete control and had to force quit. I lost everything. There was no auto recovery, no saved data. Nothing. This is devastating. I will most likely loose this job because of this! Where’s the temporary files? How can I regain SOMETHING????

    And on top of this, my autosave is also on and was supposed to save every 10 minutes… which it hasn’t…
    Maybe if you stop adding all kinds of AI crap into the software and just give us something that works.

    Exactly where did you save to initially? Do you know with certainty which folder on which disk? 

     

    If it’s not there, it’s somewhere else. Initiate a new Save As and see where it wants to go. Be aware of this setting in Preferences:

    Yes ofcourse I know where I saved it. I’ve been working with Photoshop since 1999.

    The problem isn’t that the file saved somewhere else. The actual command “SAVE” or “SAVE AS” stopped working. Even though I was still able to draw. Even if you clicked on the file menu, it would open up the options but you can’t select any of it. It just stopped working. All my other apps was still running. 

    Activity monitor didn’t show Photoshop as “not responding” it just stopped working. I had to force quit because I couldn’t get a response out of anything.
