I also noticed this happening just today, after the Camera Raw update. I cannot drag in .jpg files into Photoshop. I'm thinking the issue is with the Camera Raw plug-in?

Yes, I think you are right. I have been trying to uninstall the Camera Raw but I can't.

I am having the same problem. Did you solve it?

I'm having the same problem. Can't drag jpgs into an open PSD, can't open with the open command. Tried local and network drives - same error messsage as CptShane.

I'm on a MacBook Pro Retina, mid 2014, macOS Sierra 10.12.6

The only workaround I've found so far is to drop the jpg I need into a web browser, right-click and "copy image" then paste it into my PSD... but this isn't going to work in all cases!

Hi there,

That seems like an odd issue, could you please let us know the operating sytem version you're working on?

Also, where are the jpegs's stored? Local drive or External?

Could you try resetting the preferences of Photoshop and let us know if it helps? https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html

Note: Make sure that you back up all your custom presets, brushes and actions before restoring Photoshop's preferences. Migrate presets, actions, and settings

Regards,
Sahil

I tried resetting my preferences file - no change.
