Dear Adobe, give us access to Photoshop 25.9.0, everything above that is buggy, not useful and terrible

Again, Adobe offers the current and one previous version of their applications. When they provide an earlier version — as they did for you — they only offer the x.0 version, not the updates.

While I agree with you that I would prefer they offer the latest dot release, they don’t.

The volunteers on this forum can only provide you with information. We can’t change Adobe’s policies or give you links to versions they don’t offer. We don’t work for Adobe and can’t provide 25.9.

One thing you might consider, is to report each of your issues as a Bug instead of Discussion. It’s important to put each bug into a separate thread, as Adobe tracks them, and other users add comments and upvote.

What are the actual problems you are experiencing with the newer/current version/s?

In the future you may want to avoid uninstalling the old version when installing a new one.

I learned that years ago using adobe products. Unfortunatelly I bought new pc with Windows 11, because my old pc couldn’t update to new version of windows and now I’m left without access to version of photoshop that actually worked well.

What are the problems? There is whole bunch of problems.

First of all brushes feels different, hard to tell exactly what’s different, but it’s different.

Initial direction in brush settings - broken, when you set smoothing options to anything else then 0% then you get random brush angle every few pen strokes,

lasso tool broken - when you start lasso it’s activating not from point you start to put the line put several pixels away,

and when you want to actually move the thing you selected few pixels in some direction it jumps back to where it was.

wand tool broken - when you select stuff with wand tool it select it with some offset, you have click 3-4 times to actually have good selection.

mask broken - mask is not refreshing when you move stuff around,

layer blending options dropdown broken - when you choose some layer blending option for some layer then suddenly dropdown is inactive and you can not use arrow keys on keybord to quickly select other blending options.

and more. this is just stuff I remember now. Using new version of Photoshop is never ending frustrating experience.

I cannot reproduce those issues but some of it sounds vaguely like problems that have come up way back with Windows Ink – as I am a Mac User I didn’t pay close attention to those.

As for Lasso Tool and Magic Wand Tool: Is the offset the same?

Are those the only ones affected and all other Tools actually honour the cursor position?

You can download and install only the current version and one version before. If you need an earlier version you have to contact Adobe and asking them for a download link.But it isn’t sure you’ll get it.

In the chat field (lower right of screen) typing “Agent” into the chat text field will bypass the initial chatbot. Be patient, it can take quite a while to reach a human. Explain why you need the old versions, and ask politely for the links.

It isn’t sure that you get the link for this old an unsupported version of Lightroom.

If you are not able to get to the chat window, then disable your ad-blockers, firewall, enable cookies/scripts on your browser.

If you get the links save the downloaded files for further use.

@jane-e You’re right. This is a typo 😮😌 and I mean Photoshop.
