Photoshop 27.1 File Extension Error

Photoshop 27.1 File Extension Error: This update no longer overwrites extensions when saving files. Resulting in Filename.jpg.psd or psd.jpg. I resize artwork in different dimensions and export both formats with the same file name followed by the dimensions. ex: Filenname_Date_SIze.jpg.  If I click on the name to copy the naming convention, it used to have a dialogue box that would overwrite the file with the correct extension. Now it just adds both extensions. This means I have to adjust the names manually after export adding extra work to my day. The only this update managed to improve was my hatred for AI. Great work team.

Do you have extensions hidden in the operating system settings? You don't say which.

Is the extension part of the copy? Is it marked in blue when you copy? Naturally, you can only copy the name, the file type/extension is set elsewhere.

Hey, @austind75310261. Welcome to the Photoshop Community. I've moved your comment from the Announcement post to a separate thread. I'll need more information to assist you in figuring this out.

Please share a video of the issue and the system information from Photoshop Help > System Info> Copy and paste it into a text document, then upload and attach it here.

Please test and confirm if the issue exists with Photoshop (Beta). You can get Photoshop (beta) from the Creative Cloud > Apps tab > Beta Apps section.

Thanks!
