Photoshop 27.8.0 cannot use valid OpenType fonts that work correctly in InDesign

Thanks for the detailed report. Since this appears to be happening with a specific font family that isn’t available through Adobe Fonts, we’ll need a little more information to investigate.

Could you please send me the following via DM (click my profile and select Send Message):

• A short screen recording showing:

  • The font is working correctly in InDesign

  • The same font is failing in Photoshop

• The font files (or a download link if you’re unable to attach them)

That will allow us to try reproducing the issue on our end and determine what’s happening.
 

In the meantime, could you also try the following?

Clear the Photoshop font cache

1. Quit Photoshop and the Creative Cloud Desktop app.

2. Navigate to:
   /Users/[your user name]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop

3. Delete the CT Font Cache folder and empty the Trash.

Clear the macOS font cache

1. Quit Photoshop and the Creative Cloud Desktop app.

2. Open Applications > Utilities > Terminal.

3. Run: sudo atsutil databases -remove

4. Restart your Mac.
    

Validate the fonts in Font Book

1. Open Applications > Font Book.

2. Select All Fonts.

3. Press Cmd+A to select all fonts.

4. Choose File > Validate Fonts.

5. Remove any fonts that are reported as damaged or duplicated.

One last question: are you using any third-party font manager (such as Suitcase Fusion, FontExplorer, RightFont, Typeface, etc.), or are the fonts managed solely through macOS Font Book?

Once I have the screen recording and font files, I’ll try reproducing the issue and share the findings with the product team.
