Photoshop Broken Today? 3-25-26

Spent a very long time trying to apply an action to a folder of photos, to no avail. I created the action, when I try to apply it,nothing happens. Tried closing, restarting, all the things...you know. Nothing. Contacted help/chat, was told they can’t access their own tools and to check back in a couple hours. Weird. Just another day of moving backwards faster than forward. Sigh. Anybody know what’s going on?

@Claire H. Thank you for all the replies. I worked with tech support and it was discoverred to be a bug. I had to go back to PS 25. Issue solved.

I may have missed it in this thread, but the best way to run an action a series on image files, is to use File > Scripts > Image Processor.  As mentioned, Actions will use the folder specified when the Action was created.  Rather than fight this, let it happen and transfer the processed files.  Another tip with multiple image files is if you are placing an object , like a signature, set the rulers to Percentage.  This way the placement will at least be close to optional with different sized images.

    Good luck.

One thing I would ensure is that the check marks to the left of your action are all there. If not it means they’re disabled:

Creative Cloud>Creative Cloud Applications logged a major issue 4 hours ago, still in progress. No details.

“Impact update: We’ve changed the severity level from minor to major for the availability issue.” [1:30 MDT, 30 minutes ago]

May have nothing to do with your action problem, Lucky Sevens.

@sarapia777  Based on the scant information you have provided, no one here can help. Therefore, all proposed solutions are a look into the crystal ball.

Please give us more and detailed informations about your issue.

What exact do you tried to do? What should the action exact do?

Describe the steps so exact as possible, so we can try to reproduce.

We also need information about your system. Please provide a copy of your 'System Info'. This can be get from the Photoshop menu item Help > System Info. There's a copy button in the System Info dialog. Press this button and paste the info into your next forum post.

Do you have done the steps that @Claire H. wrote?

Hi @sarapia777, Thanks for reaching out to the Photoshop Community Forums! Let's try to figure this out by testing out a few things:

    1. Resetting Photoshop Preferences: Meanwhile, you can try to reset the preferences of Photoshop using the steps mentioned here:  https://adobe.ly/4jmvs7u. Please back up your settings before resetting the preferences. You can check:  https://adobe.ly/3YW1WOu
    2. If the action relies on specific layer names or document structure, those steps can silently fail on different files.

    3. Confirm you’re selecting a specific action, not just an action set, when running the batch.
    4. Make sure the action includes an Open step, or enable “Override Action ‘Open’ Commands” when running Batch.
    5. Check out this HelpX article about setting up Actions in Photoshop: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/actions-actions-panel.html#about_actions_and_the_actions_panel

And if none of these steps work for you, can you send your system info and a screen recording of the issue? You can find your system info by going to Help > System Info, copying and pasting it into a text file, and attaching it here. Thanks! ^CH

Thank you. I’m not doing anything an differently than I have many times before. Rather straightforward, but today it’s not working.  Followed all suggestions from AI search, also.

If you have tried all the recommended steps in our HelpX articles, please send us more information, along with screenshots or a recording of your workflow. That way we can try to recreate the issue and help you get back to your editing workflow. Thanks! ^CH
